Matt McLeod is the varsity boys basketball coach at Casady School in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma and also serves as a year-round staff member for PGC Basketball. Prior to becoming the head coach of the Cyclones, he served 10 years as a head coach in Texas high schools.
Over those ten years, Matt amassed 241 careers wins including four district championships, three regional finals appearances, and a trip to the Final Four. During that span he was a three-time recipient of the Don Coleman award as the state’s Outstanding Coach of the Year by TheTexas Association of Basketball Coaches. Known for his player development, Matt has also developed 18 All-State selections, 71 All-District, and five District MVPs.
During his last two years in Texas, Matt coached at The Covenant Preparatory School (Kingwood, Texas); during which the program amassed a record of 62-15, including a District championship and Final Four appearance at Texas State Tournament. The Knights also set several offensive records during 2016-17 season, including a school-record 299 made 3-point field goals.
Matt has also served with PGC Basketball in a myriad of roles since the spring of 2011. He currently is a year-round Director and is on the Curriculum Development Team.
Matt’s first interaction with PGC founder Dick DeVenzio came when Matt was invited to attend a Prep Stars recruiting event as a junior in high school. He then attended an Essentials session with one of his athletes in 2010. After seeing what an incredible difference PGC made on his athlete and himself, Matt immediately began implementing the concepts of SCHAPE into both his basketball program and personal life.
Matt graduated from Oral Roberts University in 2004 with bachelor’s degrees in both communications and English. There he met his wife Emily, and they have four children: Olivia (9), Wesley (8), Boyce (5), and Elizabeth Joy (3).
